There are a couple of ways to measure what ring size you need for your purposes. If you already know your ring size, or have a ring that fits, you can use a ring mandrel. This tool has the ring sizes listed on it. Slide the ring onto the tool and wherever it rests should list the correct ring size. You can also use the ring mandrel to make wire-wrapped wrings in the correct size. If you don't have a ring mandrel and don't know your ring size, you can use a strip of paper or string around the desired finger. Wrap it snugly and comfortably around the finger and mark where the ends meet. Flatten your paper or string and measure it against a ruler. You can then convert that measurement to determine your ring size using the above table.
