This block is full of milled lines. When you lay your blank down & strike it with a hammer, it leaves the lines in your metal blank on the back. I had to lay a cloth on top of the block before stamping.
I've used this block a number of times now. It is very heavy so it stays in place and allows you to hammer even on the corners and edges. I've been very happy with it.
This item works for what it's intended for but if your not careful it can become dented if you are striking it too hard (like with a texture hammer) Also, needs to stay greased if you live in a tropical climate to keep it from rusting. Other than that it is priced fairly and does the job.
