I am very happy with the small kumihimo disc.
I am learning this technique and using the form to do so. The letters and numbers have been rubbing off. The form is strong enough to work and rework as I learn this. It is a good size for my hand.
A small kumihimo disc has two advantages. It is portable so it can be an excellent travel companion. Also, it saves thread ends from wasting, thanks to its small diameter. This disc securely and nicely hold threads so that my kuminimo beading projects have consistent size and shape. However, it was extra firm in the very beginning. It gave too much tension to threads. As a result, beads kept popping out of threads. I would suggest playing with it for a while until you see it is customized. After that, it becomes a nice, durable tool.
