A good cord end for kumihimo
I wanted a way to finish the end of a 4mm round kumihimo braided cord--I used this pewter crimp end with a little glue. I don't have the crimping perfected yet--but I think it is going to work. I'm adding jump rings and a button magnet to the loop.
I agree with the flaking off of the plated color but if you are careful and not manipulate too much, they work just fine
Great price and very useful end cap for many projects but the silver plating just flakes off. It seems to happen when the cap is actually crimped because they look OK untill they are manipulated.
Be careful about over-tightening
Be careful about using a cord that is too small because if you need to really tighten the prongs down to hold the stringing material, the plated finish will crack and flake. After ruining two ends this way, I wrapped the ends of my cord with wire and then clamped the crimp on the end so that I wouldn't have to over-tighten the crimp.
