A friend wanted to finish 1mm rattail on necklaces--I searched and found this sterling crimp end. It worked perfectly! Good fit--crimps easily--holds--and the finish is very nice!
Perfect for finishing 1.5mm satin rattail!
A friend wanted to use 1.5mm rattail to suspend a crystal heart but needed to find a finish for the ends of the rattail. This crimp end is perfect! With a little glue used sparingly on the cord end to keep it from fraying and some careful insertion into the crimp tube, the cord fit perfectly. I used pliers to crimp the cord end--then added jump rings and a trigger clasp. The finish on this crimp cord end is lovely.
I use 1mm leather often and this crimp end looks good with whatever color leather I use. I only use the loop style and add a toggle clasp. Even though the sterling silver crimp end is more expensive that the pewter it sure is easier to flatten in the middle than the pewter crimp ends.
A BEAUTIFUL END CAP, NICE WEIGHT & FEEL. I USE THIS SIZE FOR 1.5 & 2MM LEATHER CORD ON BOTH ENDS THEN ADD A SPRING RING & LOBSTER OR TRIGGER CLASP INSTEAD OF USING THE MATCHING HOOK FOR EXTRA SECURITY. YOU'LL NEED TO ADD A TOUCH OF GLUE TO THE LEATHER (I USE GS HYPO CEMENT) BEFORE YOU GENTLY SQUEEZE OR PINCH THE CRIMP AREA IN THE MIDDLE. I ALWAYS SQUEEZE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CRIMP. HEY ARTBEADS, I COULD USE A 4.5 OR 5MM SIZE TOO!!!!
