Material Crazy Lace Agate
Brand Dakota Stones
Strand Length Approx 8"
Sold by the Strand

Dark blues fade into sky blues in interesting patterns in these blue Crazy Lace agate 30x40mm oval beads from Dakota Stones. These large beads feature a wide oval shape. The gorgeous blue colors swirl with patterns of white and the occasional brown tones. The swirls look like rippling water pooling out to form a mesmerizing design. These beads are large enough to use as focal points in jewelry designs that make a statement. They have a Mohs hardness of 6.5-7. Mexican crazy lace agate is normally an opaque white gemstone with swirling patterns, but these beads are color enhanced to emphasize these beautiful patterns. Color enhancing is common amongst agates to make them fashionably relevant. Metaphysical Properties: Often called the happy stone, Crazy Lace agate promotes laughter and optimism.

Because gemstones are natural materials, appearances may vary from bead to bead.

Length 39.5-40mm, Strand Length 8 Inch, Width 30-30.5mm

Love that blue!
By Colleen on February 4, 2016

The color is beautiful and shows all the swirls and marking in the blue lace agate. Some will be pendants with a lightly done wire wrap.

GREAT ARTBEADS in many ways-NOT gemstone beads
By Trish on September 8, 2015

Some of these reviews prove to me that not everyone likes enhanced gemstones. I can see that your write-up says "dyed". I don't enjoy the Dakota selection and for an 8" strand, they are expensive. I have only bought Bronzite (even though I think they are enhanced), Carnelian, and I think it was Red Canyon. I would prefer that Artbeads get 16" strands and never buy dyed stones. Some customers must be getting wise to the fact that they are being mislead unless they read reviews that admit that enhancement has been used. I love Artbeads and get lots of items from them but don't like the fact that I often can't get REAL gemstones. I am also tired of trying to get items as soon as they are advertised only to find that they are sold out so quickly. Don't forget I said I love Artbeads - They do a superb job with lots of other items and I am sure I will always go back for many of their items

Nice banding, garish neon blue color
By BeadAddict on November 14, 2014

Had these come in the same color as what was shown (appears to be a soft sky blue on my monitor), I'd have been thrilled. I knew the stones would be dyed, but the ones I received were a very bright and deep blue, and not a particularly nice one. If dye enhances a stone, that's okay if you know that, but this had so much dye that it literally looked soaked in it, which also unfortunately drowned out some of the more subtle shading of the bands and swirls. I don't know if the color would fade, but I'm actually thinking of putting the beads out into the direct son hoping they will bleach out. If you like a really deep but unnatural turquoise blue, these are for you. If you prefer a more natural looking color, I'd steer clear. It may be that dye batches vary, but the ones I got were not very attractive. I am debating on returning these as a result. I like the size and what you can see of the banding, just hate the color. I also purchased the rounds at the same time, but those are a much nicer lighter shade of blue. Wish these matched them.
