I use this all the time for necklaces, multi bracelets, earrings, and results are always great. Very strong for it's size. It presents really well too.
This chain was the proper size and precisely that "antiqued/not black" finish that I was looking for. I needed this for a drape on one of my brooches. The reflective quality of the links looks just beautiful. Once I had finished my brooch drape, I cut enough length for a necklace to attach a pendant.
This is not a chain that I like against my neck and/or chest. It's not quite "smooth" and actually has a powdery grit feel to it. And after about 20 minutes, when I removed my necklace, my entire neck and chest were red where ever the chain had contact with my skin. Now, I've never EVER experienced any sort of reaction to "any" type of metal and I have worked with and worn MANY. In short, I feel that this chain is great if you're looking to accent a piece or use in a bracelet design (given that wrist/arm skin isn't as reactive as the skin on one's neck/chest). ~ I do wish that I'd just spent the extra money and gone with Sterling Silver.
Delicate, smooth, reflective
I like this chain for its weight and reflective nature. This does have smooth sided links that catch the light. It isn't overtly shiny but, I like an authentic antique Silver chain that looks like its been around a while: not too dark and definitely not matte. My four stars instead of 5: If the gauge of this metal was slightly lower, a thicker chain would round the edges of the links out a bit more which would provide a more comfortable chain. I used this in a double strand necklace and will likely swap it out for another chain that is a tad more comfortable and thus, wearable. That said, using this chain in any bracelet design should work beautifully. The skin on our necks is always a bit more sensitive to what is sitting against it. ~ I will order more of this chain for use in bracelet designs. The reflective nature alone will create a really beautiful piece. ~
I really like this chain. I was told it's lead and nickle free and that's great when selling jewelry. I also like the quality. It is a strong chain and it's antique finish is trendy.
