Plating issues
By Deb on November 8, 2014

I love the satin finish on these, but it wears off too easily.

Works well with certain brass cord ends
By GwenR44 on February 12, 2013

I purchased this clasp hoping it would look good with some brass cord ends that I had purchased and which were an odd color. The satin Hamilton clasp looks very well with them; not quite the same color but blends nicely. Am very pleased with it. It is a small clasp which is exactly what was needed with 1.5mm leather cord. The color would also go well with anything gold-filled.

Worst gold plating ever
By sweetpea12 on August 5, 2012

I got a bunch of clasps and findings from Satin Hamilton with this matte finish, which I used to make necklaces. On all the pieces, the plating was completely removed after a few HOURS of wearing them. The gold plated chain I used from a different manufacturer was still shiny gold, and the findings were worn back to whatever base metal they used. It looked awful, not to mention, whatever metals had worn off into my skin. I'll never use these again, and I certainly can't sell any of the designs I already used them in.
