Swim the Seas Necklace Tutorial

Cut a length of jewelry wire approximately 16 inches long. Slide a Gardanne Beads sea green with accent enameled brass leaf petal pendant onto the center of the wire.

Add three shiny blue seed beads from the Artbeads Bluebird Designer Blend to one side of the leaf pendant, followed by a 3mm bicone in Pacific Opal. Repeat two times, leaving off the last bicone. Repeat this entire pattern on the other side of the leaf pendant.

Bring both ends of the jewelry wire through one 4mm bicone in Dark Moss Green, a Grace Lampwork Sea Jellies pillow focal bead, and another Dark Moss Green bicone. Pull to make a tight loop with the beads below the Grace Lampwork focal.

Add three shiny blue seed beads, a Pacific Opal bicone, and a shiny blue seed bead to one end of the wire. Then, add the following pattern:

• One 6mm round pearl in Crystal Iridescent Light Blue
• One 6mm nickel-plated filigree bead cap
• One Dark Moss Green bicone
• One filigree bead cap
• One 6mm faceted round in Majestic Blue
• One JBB antique silver-plated pewter squiggle cylinder bead
• One Majestic Blue round
• One filigree bead cap
• One Dark Moss Green bicone
• One filigree bead cap
• One Iridescent Light Blue pearl
• Three shiny blue seed beads

Add a Pacific Opal bicone to the wire and then make a mirror image of the bead pattern on the other side of the bicone. Add three shiny blue seed beads, a Pacific Opal bicone, three shiny seed beads, and an Iridescent Light Blue pearl to the strand.

Repeat the previous step on the other end of the jewelry wire.

Slide a sterling silver 2x2mm crimp tube onto one end of the wire, followed by a sterling silver 5.95mm open jump ring. Bring the wire back through the crimp tube and crimp in place. Hide the crimp with a sterling silver 3mm crimp cover. Repeat on the other end of the wire.

Cut a piece of hand-dyed silk turquoise and lime green blend with purple metallic edges in half. Slide a TierraCast antique pewter Jardin barrel bead onto the cut half of one piece. Then, bring the cut half through the jump ring at one end of your necklace and back through the barrel bead. Flatten the barrel bead down to crimp the ribbon in place using chain or flat nose pliers. Repeat on the other side of the necklace with the other half of the ribbon.
