Thread wrapping works over a variety of materials, not just cord. In this case I used it as an embellishment on a tube bead.
Put some color into your style with the simple thread wrapping technique. Thread wrapping is so easy to do and works in all kinds of styles. Cheri wrapped her threads around a tube bead, but you can easily use this technique on leather and other surfaces. Find more ideas for thread wrapping in this Artbeads Cafe episode.
Choose three colors of embroidery floss (found at your local craft store) to wrap around the sterling silver 4x35mm curved tube bead. Wrap your first color around the bead using the thread wrapping technique. Switch the colors to your liking. When knotting your colors, you can finish the knots with super glue, to the back of the bead, for extra security.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
