This simple necklace is easy to make and will work with any style. The chain tassel can be made with scraps of leftover chain from other jewelry projects. You can customize the design by choosing your favorite chain styles or mixing up the finishes used. The leaf pendants and leather cord add a bohemian feel

Step-by-Step Instructions Expand All Steps

We used six different chain styles to create our chain tassel. The chain styles we used are as follows: antique silver-plated 1+1 infinity link chain, antique silver-plated curb chain, antique silver-plated crimped oval link chain, antique silver-plated flat oval cable chain, antique silver-plated 3+1 medium round and oval link chain and antique silver-plated 3+1 small round and oval link chain.

Cut six pieces of chain to varying lengths. Attach these six pieces to a sterling silver 4.60mm open jump ring.

Cut five pieces of chain to varying lengths. Attach these five pieces to a jump ring. Repeat this step.

Add the jump rings on the groups of chain onto a 6-inch piece of 22 gauge Silver Artbeads Designer Wire, with the six-piece group in the middle of the other groups. Secure the groups to the wire by creating a wrapped loop at the end of the wire.

Add a TierraCast 8mm antique pewter-plated brass cupola cord end cap to the wire and create a wide wrapped loop at the top of the end cap. Use jump rings to connect the three 7mm matte silver-plated pewter leaf pendants to the chain. Add one leaf to each chain group at different levels. You can trim the chain lengths if necessary to create a staggered look in the tassel.

Wrap the 1.5mm natural red brown round leather cord around the base of the wrapped loop and bring the ends through the loop. Finish the ends with a sliding knot closure. Trim the ends of the leather if necessary.
