I knotted satin cord around the beads in this design to add a little extra dimension to the look of the piece.
This Rosaline Sunrise necklace is beautiful and bold. The satin cord produces a light sheen complemented by large pink beads with hints of iridescence. Wear it yourself to a Mother's Day dinner or create it for someone you love.
Cut 1 foot of Artbeads Designer Jewelry Wire. Clamp a bead stopper onto the wire approximately 1 1/2-inches from the end. Alternate between stringing an 8/0 round TOHO™ bead in sand-lined crystal and a 10mm fire-polished bead (we randomly chose a Rosaline or Rosaline AB) 18 times. Finish with a TOHO™ bead, and use a bead stopper to keep the beads in place.
Cut a 3 1/2-foot piece of 2mm coffee satin cord. Leaving an approximately 2-inch tail, tie a knot over the last TOHO™ bead. With the beaded strand in your left hand, grasp the cord in your right hand, and lay it along the bottom edge of the first fire-polished bead, leaving a slight gap (or loop). Lay the cord over the top of the following TOHO™, bringing the cord around the back of the beaded strand and then through the gap (or loop). Pull the cord taut but not tight. This forms a half hitch knot over the TOHO™. Continue knotting the cord along the fire-polished beads and over the TOHO™ beads, keeping the knots slightly loose so that the cord doesn't pull the strand into a circle.
Take off the bead stopper and thread a 2x2mm sterling crimp tube, a 4x4mm sterling silver crimp tube and an 8mm antique brass-plated open jump ring onto the wire. Thread the wire back through the 2x2mm crimp tube and crimp the tube close to the jump ring, making sure to leave enough room on the wire for the 4x4mm crimp to rest comfortable when closed.
Thread the satin cord through the 4x4mm crimp tube and the jump ring, covering the first jump ring, and return through the 4x4mm crimp tube a second time. Line the crimp tube up close to the TOHO™ bead and crimp it closed with pliers. Cut off the extra satin cord close to the crimp. Repeat steps three and four for the other end of the strand.
Repeat steps one through five to create a second strand.
Repeat steps one through five a third time, modifying steps two and four as follows. In step two, cut a 4-foot piece of satin cord and leave an 8-inch tail before the knot. In step four, DO NOT cut off the extra satin cord.
Cut a 5-inch piece of antique brass-plated large circle link chain and a 5-inch piece of antique brass-plated small oval link chain. Use a jump ring to connect the last link of both chains to one piece of the antique vintage brass-plated pewter teardrop toggle clasp. Use another jump ring to connect the other ends of both chains to the top jump rings of all three strands. Weave and knot the 8-inch tail of satin cord around and through the jump rings and strands to hide the crimp tubes, finishing with a knot. Glue the knot with GS hypo fabric cement to ensure that it will stay closed and cut off any excess cord after the knot.
Work with the strands until they form a twisted pattern. Repeat step seven for the other end of the necklace.

Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown
below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from
the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up
the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color
scheme—it’s up to you!
