Many legends tell of mysterious mermaids perching on rocks and singing in the middle of the night. The porcelain beads in this jewelry set bring those legends to life wonderfully. Ocean blue colors mingle with celestial golds, complementing the mermaid scene depicted on the porcelain beads. Everyone will be entranced by the harmonious mermaid style of this jewelry set
To make the beaded tassel of the necklace, cut a yard of FireLine. Make a knot around the loop of a sterling silver 22 gauge 2-inch eye pin. String 19 seed beads from the Seabreeze 8/0 Designer Seed Bead Blend onto the thread, followed by the 16mm Indicolite starfish pendant. Add three more seed beads to the thread, then bring your needle back through the first 16 beads on the strand. Go back around the eye pin and back through the beads to strengthen the strand. Knot again at the eye pin to secure the strand.
String a 10mm antique brass-plated pewter filigree end cap onto the eye pin, followed by a 4mm Southwest Flair bead. Attach it to the bead cap end of the sterling silver 22 gauge 3-inch bead cap eye pin by creating a wrapped loop. Instead of trimming the wire, you can wrap the excess around the crystal bead. Then, string a seed bead onto the bead cap eye pin, followed by the 30x40mm oval mermaid porcelain bead and another seed bead. Make a wrapped loop at the top of the eye pin. Set your pendant with tassel aside for now.

Repeat this pattern nine times, then add a 5mm heishi spacer and three seed beads. String your pendant onto the wire and make a mirror image of the bead pattern on the other side of the pendant. Don't be afraid to randomize the colors of the Southwest Flair beads in your pattern.

String the 18x24mm oval mermaid porcelain bead onto a 2-inch sterling silver 22 gauge eye pin. Then, string on a heishi spacer, a Petrol pearl and another heishi spacer. Make a simple loop at the top of the beads. Attach the sterling silver French hook earwire with ball and coil to the earring by opening the simple loop and inserting the earwire. Close the loop to secure the earwire in place.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
