Cut about a yard of thread and string a stopper bead nine inches from the end. This pendant is made using the square stitch. String 17 green beads from the Swanky Pine 11/0 Designer Seed Bead Blend for Row 1. For Row 2, string one green bead, pass through the first bead in Row 1 and then through the first bead in Row 2 again. String one green bead and pass through the second bead in Row 1 and through the second bead in Row 2 again.

Square Stitch Tutorial

Continue the square stitch pattern with 13 gold beads and end Row 2 with two green beads. Begin Row 3 with two green beads. Continue with one gold bead, 11 olive beads, one gold bead and then finish with two green beads. Repeat this pattern for Row 4. Repeat Row 2 for Row 5. Repeat Row 1 for Row 6. After adding the final bead, weave the thread back into the stitch and secure it in several places by knotting. Remove stopper bead from the other side and secure this end of the thread, as well.

Use three TierraCast gold-plated brass medium oval open jump rings to attach the narrow end of the square stitch creation to a TierraCast antique gold beaded 3-1 link. Add the jump rings between seed beads on the end of the stitch, around the thread. Repeat on the other end of the seed beads. Attach the TierraCast antique gold royal bail to one 3-1 link using an oval jump ring. Slide a seed bead onto a 2-inch satin Hamilton gold-plated 20 gauge head pin, followed by a TierraCast gold antique small Turkish heishi bead spacer, a 8mm faceted cube in Crystal Vitrail Medium, another heishi spacer and another seed bead. Attach this dangle to the other 3-1 link by creating a simple loop.

Cut a length of 2mm smoky quartz rubber approximately 18 inches long. Slide the seed bead pendant onto the rubber so that it rests at the center of the length of cord. Glue the TierraCast 2mm gold-plated brass Taj cord end cap onto one end. Repeat for the other end of the rubber and allow to dry. Attach half of the TierraCast antique gold classic clasp set to one end of the necklace using a 5.5mm antique brass-plated 21 gauge open jump ring. Repeat on the other end of the necklace.
