To get the kinks out of the cord you will be using to make your tassels, remove the cord from the cards and soak in warm water for a couple of minutes. Blot dry and then iron the cord. We used dark pink Griffin silk bead cord, so you can use a medium-heat or silk setting on your iron.

Cut the paper card that your cord comes wrapped on to about 1 inch. You will use this card to wrap the cord to form even lengths for the tassels.

Tape the loose end of the cord to the back of the card with the end just beyond the outside edge. Place the inside edge of the card up against the first loop on the pendant.

Using the needle that comes on the cord, insert it through the loop on the satin rhodium-plated pewter ethnic crescent pendant.

Make six full wraps around the card and through the loop.

Trim the cord so that the tail end is just beyond the outside edge of the card. You may need pliers to coax the needle through the loop a sixth time. Use scissors to cut the loops at the outside edge.

You should have 14 strands.

Cut an eight-inch piece of Hana beading thread in Pebble. Use this thread to wrap the strands of the tassel. We started on the back of the tassel and then flipped it to the front as we made the wraps to ensure that they were tidy on the front side of the tassel. After securing the wrap, put a needle on the thread end and tuck it into the tassel before trimming.

Repeat steps one through four for every loop on the crescent pendant. Then, trim the tassels so that they are even.

To fluff your tassels, untwist a strand of cord on one of the tassels. It will separate into two pieces. Untwist each of these two pieces. Untwist in the opposite direction for even more fluff. Repeat for all of the strands on all of your tassels and then give your tassels a final trim to even them out.

Attach a 12-inch piece of 4mm antique silver-plated rolo chain to one side of the crescent pendant using a 5mm antique silver-plated 18 gauge open jump ring. Repeat on the other side of the crescent.

Attach a 12x6.5mm antique silver-plated trigger clasp to one end of the necklace using a 5mm jump ring. Attach an 8mm antique silver-plated 16 gauge closed jump ring to the other end of the necklace using a 5mm jump ring.
