Fun textures come together in this fabulous necklace. Cynthia layered leather Lillypilly Designs embellishments with a crystal flatback and then added bead embroidery around the edges. Seed beads from an Artbeads Designer Seed Bead Blend provide the perfect complement of shining colors. She used the same seed beads in one of the necklace strands and then layered it with a simple Leather Cord USA strand. The result is a fanciful floral necklace you'll love

Step-by-Step Instructions Expand All Steps

Glue the Lillypilly Designs large flower camel leather embellishment onto a piece of bead backing using Gem-Tac permanent adhesive. Allow to dry and then sew one row of seed beads from the Artbeads Patagonia Designer Blend around the petals of the flower embellishment using the two-seed-bead backstitch.

Glue the Lillypilly Designs large cut-out flower purple leather embellishment on top of the brown flower using Gem-Tac. Allow to dry. Glue the Lillypilly Designs small cut-out flower sage leather embellishment on top of the purple flower using Gem-Tac. Allow to dry. Glue the 14mm Hotfix jelly fish flatback in partly frosted Crystal Silver Night to the center of the flower embellishments using Gem-Tac. Allow to dry.

Trim the backing, making sure not to cut any of the threads sewn into the piece. Then, cut another piece of backing or felt to match your focal. Attach the backing with a row of Patagonia seed beads using the brick stitch technique.

Attach the Angel Findings antique pewter round floral glue-on bail to the back of your focal using 5-minute two-part epoxy. Make sure to mix your epoxy well and wait until it starts setting up. When it feels gummy, use it on the bail and the pendant. Allow to dry.

Cut a length of jewelry wire approximately 25 inches long. Slide a sterling silver 2x2mm crimp tube onto the end of the wire, followed by a sterling silver 6.10mm open jump ring. Bring the wire back through the crimp tube and crimp in place. String seed beads from the Patagonia Designer Blend onto the wire until they reach the desired length. Slide the bail of your pendant over the beads. Add a crimp tube to the end of the wire, followed by a 6.10mm open jump ring. Bring the wire back through the crimp tube and crimp in place.

Cut a length of Leather Cord USA 3mm natural light brown round leather approximately 22 inches long, or as long as your seed bead strand. Attach a JBB antique silver-plated pewter fancy crimp end cap with loop to each end.

Open the jump ring on one end of your necklace and add one end of the leather, followed by half of the TierraCast antique rhodium heirloom clasp set. Close the jump ring. Repeat on the other end of the necklace.
