S-Lon Cord and 2mm Fire-Polished Beads turned out to be just the right things for these macrame hoop earrings.
With S-Lon Micro Bead Cord from The Beadsmith, you can create amazing style Cheri used the cord to macrame small fire-polished beads onto hoops, for earrings full of effortless beauty. Find your favorite colors and make a pair of eye-catching earrings for yourself.
Cut a length of The Beadsmith S-Lon micro bead cord in Vintage Jade approximately two feet long. Starting at one end of a 1-inch endless beading hoop, place the center of the cord underneath the wire, with the cord extended to each side.
With the cord end on the right side, make a loop to the outside of the hoop and cross the cord over the wire and under the cord end on the left. This cross should be made within the hoop, as pictured.
Using tweezers, go through the loop from the top and grab the cord end on the left from underneath and pull it through the loop. Pull the knot closed.
This forms the first half knot. You should see a little bump on the inside of the wire. From here on, you will use the cord that is coming out of the bump to form the next loop.
Form a loop to the inside of the hoop using the end of the cord coming from the bump. Cross the right hand cord over the other cord, and then under the wire hoop and up through the loop. Pull this tight. This forms the second half knot, completing a full square knot. There should now be a bump to the outside of the hoop.
Using the technique described in the previous steps, form two full square knots.
The last bump created in the knots should be to the outside of the hoop. Using the cord coming out of the bump, slide a fire-polished 2mm bead in light green metallic suede onto the cord and form a knot in the same manner as above.
Form three full square knots after the bead. Again, the last bump created should be to the outside of the hoop. Add another bead and knot it to the hoop. Repeat this step nine times.
After the last bead has been added, follow with two square knots to mirror the beginning of the pattern. Loosen the last two half knots and add a dab of adhesive to the hoop, then pull the knots tight again over the adhesive. Allow to dry. Use a thread burner to remove any tails.
Repeat steps one through nine to create the other hoop.

Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown
below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from
the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up
the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color
scheme—it’s up to you!
