Crocheting with beads can bring a whole new style to your jewelry designs. We love the boho feel of this multi-strand crocheted necklace. crystal beads add the perfect amount of sparkle, while SuperUnos provide some dangling style. Learn how to make this necklace and start adding crocheted strands to your projects.
For the strands, you will use size 10 crochet thread in the color of your choice and a size E (3.50mm) crochet hook. We used a thread in a warm, copper-like color. Your tension while crocheting will vary, so the number of beads needed to make the strands long enough will vary. Use these instructions as a guide, keeping in mind that you may need to adjust quantities and lengths as you go. Before starting, mix the TOHO bead round hybrid 6/0 Apollo, SuperUno Czech glass crystal magic red brown bead and the TOHO bead round 6/0 sand-lined crystal bags together, as they will be added to the strands randomly.
Start the strand with two plain stitches without any beads. Then, add a bead for every stitch. Before you add the faceted rounds, add a stitch without a bead and do the same after you add the faceted round. Without the extra stitches flanking the faceted round, the seed beads that are adjacent will slip behind the crystal. When you reach the end of the strand, make two plain stitches without any beads as you did at the start of the strand.

Hook the loop of a TierraCast copper 2-inch 21 gauge eye pin into the knot and then wrap the threads around the eye pin and knot them again. Secure the knot with adhesive. Thread a 10mm antique copper-plated pewter filigree end cap onto the eye pin and over the ends of the strands. Add a seed bead to the eye pin and then finish the eye pin with a wrapped loop. Repeat this step for the other end of the necklace.
Nice choice! All or most of the products needed for this project are shown below with quantities. Sometimes we sell out of components and aren’t able to order more from the manufacturer (we know, it is very disappointing to us, too). Use the opportunity to mix up the design and make it yours by substituting similar products or altering the entire color scheme—it’s up to you!
