Glue the porcelain round dragonfly cabochon onto a sheet of bead backing and allow to dry. Create a row of seed beads around the cabochon using the two-seed-bead backstitch around the cabochon with the TOHO 8/0 bead rounds in frosted trans-rainbow moss green AB. Create a second row using the two-seed-bead backstitch with 4mm faceted rounds in Chrysolite Opal and then make a third row using more of the trans-rainbow moss green AB TOHOs.

Trim the bead backing and then glue a piece of felt to the back. Create a beaded edge with the brick stitch technique using more trans-rainbow moss green AB TOHOs.

Finish the trim with a picot edge. For each stitch in the picot edge you will use one trans-rainbow moss green AB TOHO, a TOHO 11/0 bead round in frosted silver-lined light gold and another trans-rainbow moss green AB TOHO.

Rub some gilders paste in patina onto the Kabela Design antique brass vined heart link. After 15 minutes, smooth it with a soft cloth and seal it with the Nunn Design sealant. Allow to dry. Center the link at the top of your focal and sew it onto the back. Use 5-minute two-part epoxy to glue it in place for an extra secure hold and let dry overnight.

How to Use Gilders Paste

Thread a 4mm Chrysolite Opal faceted round onto a 2-inch satin Hamilton gold-plated 20 gauge eye pin, followed by a trans-rainbow moss green AB TOHO, a 6mm bicone in Pacific Opal, another trans-rainbow moss green AB TOHO and another 4mm Chrysolite Opal faceted round. Finish the other end of the eye pin with a simple loop. Repeat this step five times and set these beaded links aside.

Cut a length of the satin Hamilton gold-plated big, medium, and small oval link chain approximately 1 1/2 inches long or nine links. Attach it to the link at the top of your focal using a 6mm satin Hamilton gold-plated 18 gauge open jump ring. On the other end of the chain, attach a beaded link using another jump ring. At the end of the beaded link add a jump ring and then attach another beaded link. At the end of this beaded link, add a jump ring and attach a third beaded link. Cut a length of chain approximately 4 1/2 inches long or 23 links. Attach it to the end of the beaded link using a jump ring. Add one half of the TierraCast 3/4-inch antique gold-plated pewter Anna's toggle and clasp to the end of the chain using a jump ring. Repeat step six for the other side of the necklace.
