This bracelet uses chain, cup chain, and black cord that are all woven together to create the finished look.
Cup chain and chain create a dazzling display against the black wax cord in this bracelet. The row of crystals in the cup chain, paired with the silver rollo chain, looks like a belt of twinkling stars in the dark night sky. You'll love how easy this bracelet comes together and how fantastic the end result is
Cut the silver-plated rollo chain into two 7 1/4-inch pieces, or however long necessary to fit your wrist. Cut the rhodium-plated cup chain with 1028 PP24 Crystal to the same length.
Apply some adhesive to both ends of the Beadalon 1mm black Korean wax cord and allow to dry. After the ends are dry, trim them at an angle. The adhesive will stiffen the cord and prevent it from fraying, while the angled cut will help the ends go through the chain easily. Thread the cord through the first link on both chains and center them in the middle of the cord.
Take one cord end, skip a link in the chain and thread it through the next link of both chains. Cinch it up snug but not too tight to the chain. Take the other cord end and thread it through the same links going in the opposite direction. Position this cord behind the first cord. Before cinching the cord all the way, position the first crystal on the end of the cup chain between the two cords, so that it is in the middle of the chains. Cinch up the cords. Don't pull the cords too tight, or they will bunch up around the chain and the crystal. You want them to lay nice and even with the chain.
Skip a link and pull the first cord through both chains as you did before. The cord will now lay on top of the link between the crystals on the cup chain. Flip the chains over, and thread the second cord through both links. Now this cord will lay over the back of the link between the crystals, sandwiching the cup chain between cords.
Repeat step four, flipping the chain from the back to the front and weaving the cords through the next links to capture the cup chain between the cords. Continue flipping back and forth from front to back as you weave to the end of the chains.
To create the sliding closure, weave the first cord through both of the first links on the other end of the bracelet. Weave the second cord through the same links in the opposite direction. This will be tight, so you may need to push the cord through with a pair of tweezers or pliers. Pull the cords so that they are even and spaced so that you can slip the bracelet over your wrist. Tie a knot on the end of each cord close to the chain. Secure the knot with adhesive and trim the ends. To the close the bracelet, simply pull the cords to cinch up the closure.
