Hopeful Bracelet Instructions Designed by Cheri Carlson
Create a beautiful message of hope in your jewelry with our templates for creating breast cancer awareness bracelets. Choose from bracelets displaying the word "Hope" or "Survivor" to show everyone that you are fighting for a cause close to your heart. These bracelets are made using The Ricks Beading Loom.
Step one: Choose a pattern for your bracelet and a bracelet size from the ones provided in this PDF. These patterns are meant to be used as a guideline for your project. Depending on how accurate you set the length of the loom or how tight you weave, your piece could come out differently.
Step two: Follow the manufacturer's instructions on how to warp the loom using the guidelines below:
For the "Hope" bracelet size 6, you will set the loom length to 139mm for 81 rows of seed beads
For the "Hope" bracelet size 7, you will set the loom length to 163mm for 95 rows of seed beads
For the "Survivor" bracelet size 6, you will set the loom length to 137mm for 80 rows of seed beads
For the "Survivor" bracelet size 7, you will set the loom length to 164mm for 96 rows of seed beads
To create a size in between those listed, adjust the loom accordingly or shorten or lengthen the bracelet at the clasp by adding or subtracting beads on the button or tail of the loop. Do not change the loop size, as it is sized to fit around the button.
Step three: Please see our Handy Tip on how to add weft thread to the loom if you run short part of the way through your project. When you are done adding beads to the bracelet, tie off the warp threads and trim. Tie off the weft threads and then use what is left to sew on the TierraCast antique silver-plated pewter apple blossom flower button (not listed in components) and to make the loop for the closure. Again, see the above Handy Tip to learn how to tie off warp and weft threads.
Step four: When attaching the button, add four of the Miyuki 11/0 opaque bright rose Delicas to the thread and then wrap the thread around the button loop several times. Run the thread back through the beads and tie it off. Run the thread to the next position, add four of the opaque bright rose Delicas and wrap it around the button loop. Go back through the beads and tie off the thread and trim.
Step five: When creating the loop, add four opaque bright rose Delicas to the thread, followed by one Miyuki 11/0 opaque white Delica, one Miyuki 11/0 opaque pearl canary Delica, another white Delica, 25 opaque bright rose Delicas and one white Delica. Take your thread through the canary Delica and then add another white Delica and four opaque bright rose Delicas. Run the thread through all the beads again to stabilize the loop. Tie off the thread and trim.
