When we first added Beadalon's polyester chain, we knew we loved it, but just couldn't think of what to do with it! So we tapped our talent in our fulfillment area and gave a few samples to Kat, our mistress of materials! Kat mixes texture in ways no other designer does. We just love the way she combined this lightweight, beautiful chain with wood, metal and even crystal. She inspires us to go in new directions when playing with texture.
Step one: Attach a 9.0mm gold-filled 14K open jump ring to the walnut wood medallion pendant and 6.85mm gold-filled 14K open jump rings to both sides of the walnut wood Medallion links. Set aside.
Step two: To make the center piece of the necklace use a 14K/20 gold-filled 2x2mm crimp tube to crimp a 5-inch piece of ZambaPro™ 49 .019 jewelry wire to a 5.85mm gold-filled 14k open jump ring. Cover with a 3.2mm gold-filled crimp cover. For help using crimp tubes and crimp covers please visit the Handy Tips section in the Learning Center.
Step three: Onto the jewelry wire thread a SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS 6mm faceted smoke topaz bicone, a SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS 4mm light smoked topaz bicone, a Czech glass beige diamond w/ Picasso rectangle, SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS 6mm light Colorado topaz roundel, Picasso rectangle and roundelle. Add the wood pendant from step one and then reverse the pattern. Use a crimp tube to crimp to a 5.85mm jump ring and cover with a crimp cover. Set aside.
Step four: To make the beaded accent sections cut a 2-inch piece of gold-filled 20 gauge half hard wire. Make a simple loop on one end. Thread a 6mm smoke topaz bicone, Picasso rectangle and a 6mm light smoked topaz bicone. Finish with a simple loop. Repeat three times. Set aside.
Step five: Cut two 7½ inch pieces and two 2¼ inch pieces of dark brown 2.5 foot polyester chain.
Step six: Connect together is this order; the loop end of the vermeil flower toggle clasp, a 6.85mm jump ring, a 7½ inch piece of chain, a beaded accent section from step three, a medallion link from step one, accent section, a 2¼ inch piece of chain and the center piece. Reverse the pattern and finish by connecting to the bar end of the toggle clasp.
