This whimsical three strand necklace is light, yet substantial. It is perfect for a bodacious bride, or a timid woman who wants a touch of wow in her wardrobe. This intricate necklace is actually very simple to make. So make one for yourself or a deserving friend.
Step one: Cut a length of Beadalon® .013 to approximately 25 inches. Using a 2x2mm crimp tube, attach the wire to one of the outside loops on your clasp. String 10 Toho frosted rosaline AB seed beads followed by one white freshwater pearl. Repeat this pattern four more times. Add five Tohos, one Hill Tribe silver fancy faceted spacer bead, a rose quartz teardrop and another spacer.
Step two: String three Toho beads, a white freshwater pearl, three more Tohos, a spacer, teardrop and spacer. Repeat this pattern 12 more times for a total of 14 teardrop. Finish by reversing the pattern you started with for a symmetrical design. Crimp the remaining end of the wire to the corresponding outside loop on the other side of the clasp. To make sure you are working on the correct side of the clasp, close the clasp before attaching this wire.
Step three: Cut a 23½ inch length of sterling silver multi-oval single link chain and attach it to the center rings using open jump rings.
Step four: Cut another length of Beadalon® to approximately 30 inches. Crimp one end to the remaining loop on one side of the clasp. String five Toho beads and a Hill Tribe spacer, follow with 10 more Toho beads, another spacer, 10 Tohos and finish with 10 more Tohos. Now you will begin the main pattern for this strand. String a light gold pearl, spacer bead, white pearl, spacer, light gold pearl, one Toho bead, spacer, rose quartz teardrop, another spacer, light gold pearl, spacer, white pearl, spacer, light gold pearl and five more Tohos. Repeat this pattern three more times and finish with a light gold pearl, spacer, white pearl, spacer and a light gold pearl. This is the center of this strand. Reverse the pattern to complete the design. Crimp the remaining end of the wire to the last loop on the clasp.
Step five: Cut a length of sterling silver 060 curb chain to approximately 1 inch. Using sterling silver 1½ inch head pins, attach pearls and Tohos in random combinations of two and three on each of the bottom seven links of the chain. Finish with wrapped loops. Attach the shell pendant to the chain with a large oval jump ring. Using a small open jump ring, attach the chain to the center of the design between the two light gold pearls.
