Warm Wood Necklace Instructions Designed by Cynthia Kimura
This two-strand necklace is a fun way to incorporate wood beads into your designs while keeping the style warm and light with color and mixed materials.
Step one: Cut two lengths of ZambaPro™ 49 .019 jewelry wire. One will be approximately 18 inches, the other will be about 28 inches. Clip one end of each wire into a Bead Stopper.
Step two: On the shorter strand, alternate 4mm Czech glass druk beads in garnet with 4mm Czech glass fire polished Madeira topaz beads until you have reached choker length. Our example is approximately 15 inches. Crimp the loose end to a loop of your toggle clasp using a 2x2mm copper antique crimp tube. For instructions on how to crimp, please see the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center. Hold the strand up to your neck to check the size, if you need to add beads, make sure to do so before crimping the other end of your wire. Attach the remaining end to the other side of the clasp.
Step three: For the longer strand, you will alternate 8mm Czech fire polished beads in orange AB with wood beads, which will also alternate between the 12mm stars in a pale sky design and fishing nets. After four fire polished, continue to alternate the wood beads, but add a 7x5mm Czech glass fuchsia and yellow roundelles until you have three. Again continue with the wood bead pattern, but alternate between three round fire polished beads and three roundelles until you have a total of 34 wood beads and end in a fire polished bead.
Step four: Check the length again to make sure it is where you want it and then crimp the ends to the other ring on your toggle clasp.
Approximate size: Choker 16 inches, long strand 24 inches Estimated time: 1 ½ hours Difficulty level: moderate
