Careful there!February 14, 2012
I'm surprised this product has such a high rating. This is an item that was highly recommended by my long-time best friend who had been beading for many years before I started... At first I thought this was just the living end of the greatest tool on earth, at least until a few years ago.

I had designed a glass pearl necklace and after awhile I realized the strand was getting longer because the wire was slipping. How was that possible? I'd tugged to test the crimp - well time seems to take its toll. I spoke with some bead shop owners and other designs who said yes, it makes a beautiful product most of the time, but it wasn't just me. They said if I wanted to continue to use it, be sure to use it and another crimp which seemed wasteful to me. I no longer use my magical crimping pliers - rarely if ever. I've also had times where the bead as it's crimped kind of damages the wire similar to other descriptions on the reviews. It's a great product in theory, but long-term I'd recommend using a standard crimping plier and crimp cover.

Wonderful product!!!!!May 25, 2011
What can I say? This tool has been a lifesaver for me. Still consider myself to be a beginner, so I haven't mastered crimping to my satisfaction. This tool changed my beading life! It will quickly pay for itself, as I won't need covers anymore.

Looks pretty and very useful - if it worksMarch 9, 2011
This is an amazing tool.

I am new to jewellery making. I bought the .014/.015 inch magical crimping tool, and tried it on Soft touch 0.014' wire. It didn't work too well. The beads would slide very easily (I used the resulting "crimps" as 2mm beads in other designs!). Then I bought the plier to crimp 0.019" dia. wires and tried it on Soft touch 0.019" as well Soft flex extreme 0.019 wires. It worked amazingly well on both of them. I love the look of the crimps, and it saves us the trouble of adding crimp covers. I don't know how it'd work on Beadalone 0.018 dia. wires. I think it is better to use the tool for the upper range of the diameter it is recommended for.

I'd recommend this product, but be very careful that these pliers can be used only on a specific diameter wires. Also, one has to be careful not to damage the wires while crimping.

A crimp that doesn't look like a crimpJuly 12, 2010
The magical Crimping Pliers makes a crimp that looks like a bead. It is a wonderful way to crimp. I saw a tip somewhere that suggests making two crimps on each end to make sure the crimps are secure. This way you have a "double bead" at each end!

Love this crimping toolDecember 28, 2009
I have been making jewelry since I was 5 years old (22 years now) and have tried and used many different tools. This tool is fantastic. It makes my jewelry look so much more professional and clean. I have been using this tool for over a year now. My advice to those of you that are just getting this tool, is to follow the directions exactly. Otherwise, you will dent your wire or the crimp bead. If you are denting the wire, you are doing it wrong. It doesn't take a lot of pressure. I just go around it a couple of times to make sure it is secure. It takes a little bit of practice, but the results are well worth it. Do NOT use this tool with the Zamba pro jewelry wire. The crimps will not hold, as that wire is not thick enough. The only con (that I would say is a "con"), is the size of the tool. It's smaller so after making about 15 or more pieces of jewelry (in one day), it can kinda hurt the palm of my hand (due to, the handle resting on my palm when I squeeze it). Other than that, great! Well worth the money.

Recommended!July 13, 2009
This is a really great tool! I usually turn the 2mm crimp tube a couple of times when crimping for a really snug fit. This tool creates a lovely little silver bead out of the crimp tube, which I use as part of my designs. Sometimes when I try to crimp in tight spaces, I can flatten my wire (Soft Flex .019) or damage a bead next to the crimp tube. This is not a problem with the tool, just me trying to make my loops as tiny as possible.

Useful with some caveatsMay 20, 2009
This tool does a decent job of making nice-looking crimps; however the crimps do not hold as securely as they do with traditional crimping methods, and occasionally the beading wire becomes damaged. This is true even when using .019 size wire and the recommended 2mm sterling silver or gold-filled crimp tubes. That said, you may still find it useful for some applications. Best tool everFebruary 5, 2007
My husband bought this crimper and I am so glad he did. The crimps have never failed us and they look so nice. It does take practice and my hubby's look better than mine. This is the best money I have ever spent for my jewelry.

You have to use the correct wire!January 20, 2007
This is a wonderful crimp tool! I think the problem those of you are having is the wire.

The package specifically says the tools is designed to be used exclusively with .019 diameter jewelry wire and 2mm crimp tubes.

My crimps look and hold great! Nice find!

Great invention!November 25, 2006
This was a great idea. They take a little practice, and really only work on the 2mm tubes (as instructed) and larger wire, but they make lovely small silver beads that blend into the item much better than simple crimped tubes. They're so good that I wish the inventor would make them in other sizes for smaller and larger crimp tubes.

magical pliersOctober 4, 2006
They don't crimp as well as they are suppose to. They don't grip the wire as well as I thought they would.
