This gorgeous necklace is part of a set. For instructions on how to make the matching bracelet, click Purple Passion Bracelet. Most of our designs tell you to start at one end of the clasp and work through to the other. For this design, the crimping done a bit differently, so it is best to begin in the middle of the design.
Step one: Cut three pieces of ZambaPro™ 49 .014 jewelry wire in 20, 25, and 28-inch lengths. On the 25-inch piece of wire you will string only the Delica beads. This is the simplest, so you may want to do it first. The fastest way to string Delicas is to pour them into a pile on your non-slip work surface, hold the wire a few inches from the end with one hand and with the other, push the beads toward the tip of the wire. They will slide on quickly and easily. Continue until you have about 2 inches of wire remaining on each end. Use a small piece of masking tape folded over the exposed wire to keep the beads from falling off the ends. Set this strand aside.
Step two: On the shortest strand, string a 6mm Swarovski faceted bicone in purple velvet in the middle of the strand. Surround that in sterling silver spacers, then working equally on both sides, add 13 Delica beads, a spacer, 6mm tanzanite bicone, spacer, 13 Delicas, spacer, purple velvet bicone, spacer, 13 Delicas, spacer, tanzanite bicone, spacer and finish with approximately 4.5-inches of Delicas on both sides. Again, make sure to leave a couple of inches on either end of the wire. Use the tape method to keep the beads in place while you work on the final strand.
Step three: On the longest strand, start in the middle with an 8mm mystic black Swarovski pearl and work out from the center. You will add approximately 15 Delicas between pearls and alternate from mystic black to dark purple pearls. Your center bead is black and in total you will have 2 more black and 3 dark purple pearls on each side. After stringing the last purple pearl on each side, add approximately 4 inches of Delicas. Tape one end, the other will be ready to attach to a clasp!
Step four: Remove the tape from one end of all strands. Gather the ends together in your fingers and slide them through a 2x2mm crimp tube. Using a crimp tool, crimp all the wires together. Trim one wire carefully to be flush with the crimp, and string the remaining two through a second crimp tube. Pass those wires through a sterling silver open jump ring, back through the tube, crimp, and trim away the excess wire. Attach the jump ring to one side of a sterling silver double hoop clasp.
Step five: Cover both crimp tubes with sterling silver crimp tube covers. Repeat the finishing process on the other side of the clasp.
