Three quick techniques for using bails

Up | Previous | Next
Bails make any project look more professional. Here are three quick and easy ways to use three different kinds of bails.
CLOSED BAIL
In this example we used a closed bail. We chose the antique gold royal bail from our pewter section. To use a closed bail, you simply attach a charm or pendant with an open jump ring.
OPEN BAIL
When using an open bail you must make sure that your charm or pendant will fit with the bail you choose. For the 20x16mm Swarovski crystal cross pendant the sterling silver small pendant bail works perfectly. Simply open the back of the bail with your flat nose pliers, insert the pendant and close.
CHARM BAIL
Charm bails are perhaps the easiest of all. They come with an open jump ring on the bottom, so you just attach your charm, or in this case, more ornate pendant, and close the jump ring. This example shows that you can really be creative with your pendants. Get brave, step outside the simple charms!
