For a fun twist on sparkling crystal designs, add some gemstone beauty to your style! These earrings are just one of many designs you can create with one strand of Dakota Stones gemstones, as Kristal Wick and Katie Hacker demonstrate in this Beads, Baubles and Jewels segment
. Their unique color patterns and bold style will have you dreaming up all kinds of designs. Follow these steps to create a pair of earrings that are sure to stand out!
Cut a length of jewelry wire approximately six inches long. String the following pattern onto the wire:
- One Swarovski 4mm faceted round in Crystal AB
- One TierraCast rhodium Kenyan heishi spacer
- Three Crystal AB rounds
- One spacer
- One Crystal AB round
String a Dakota Stones blue apatite 10x20 double-drilled rectangle bead onto the wire and repeat the bead pattern on the other side of it.
Make a loop with your wire by crimping the two ends together using a sterling silver 2x2mm crimp tube. For help using crimps, please see our Handy Tip
Add two sterling silver 5mm open jump rings to the beaded loop, over your crimp. For help opening and closing jump rings, please see our Handy Tip Video
. Attach the sterling silver plain lever-back earring to these two jump rings using another jump ring. Repeat steps one through three to complete the other earring.
