The layers in this trendy necklace are all on the same level, much like the multicultural neighborhood in Lower Manhattan that's home to various artists and boutiques. Wear this as one long strand or twist the patterns together to create new layers. No matter how you show it off, be sure to match its wild color display with a hot outfit!
Step one:
Cut the 5.5mm satin hamilton gold-plated large snake chain in half by removing two of the center links. Simply pry them open as you would a jump ring. Rotate the last link on each new open end to keep the pattern consistent. Set aside.
Step two:
Cut one 12-inch strand of jewelry wire. Attach one wire end to the end of one gold chain strand using a 14K/20 gold-filled 2x2mm crimp tube. To do this, thread the wire through the crimp tube, then through the last link in the chain and then bring it back through the crimp tube. Read our Handy Tip on how to use a crimp tube if you need help. Cover the crimp tube with one 14K/20 gold-filled 2.5mm crimp cover.
Step three:
String the jewelry wire with the following pattern:
one Miyuki 11/0 metallic dark nickel silver bead
one Swarovski 8mm round pearl in Dark Grey
one 11/0 metallic dark nickel silver bead
Repeat this pattern twelve times. Add one Swarovski 14mm round large hole pearl in Dark Grey, and then create a mirror image on the other side to complete the strand.
Step four:
Attach the open end of the jewelry wire to the second chain strand with a new crimp tube and crimp cover.
Step five:
Repeat step two. String the wire with the following pattern:
one Miyuki 11/0 duracoat galvanized zest green delica bead
one Swarovski 8mm round pearl in Neon Yellow
one 11/0 galvanized zest green delica bead
Repeat this pattern twelve times. Add one Swarovski 14mm round large hole pearl in Neon Yellow and then create a mirror image on the other side to complete the strand.
