Burnishing Gilders PaseMarch 7, 2015
I love to work with Gilders Pates. It adds a great patina especially with vintage metalwork. A great way to burnish your piece and control the amount of paste you wish to remove is to use tissue paper. I wrap a piece of tissue paper around my finger and start to burnish lightly. The results are amazing!

Great Stuff!April 11, 2013
I love using Gilders Paste on metal, lucite, paper, you name it. The colors blend beautifully for fabulous effects and I found that using Turpenoid, a "green" version of turpentine thins out the wax so that it can be brushed on for very finely detailed work. When dry some Renaissance wax or Krylon sealer does a great job of sealing the colors.

Gilders Paste so much FUNFebruary 5, 2012
I used this type of product for many years while doing ceramics so was not surprised at what can be done on jewelry. It can bring a dragonfly, butterfly or almost anything alive. It is fun to work with as there is really no "wrong way". Purchase some colors & have fun. Any pieces I have done so far are no longer with me as they were sold before they were totally dry & finished. A bit pricey if you want to have all the colors but they do go a long way & last forever as I had some that had not been used for nearly 30 years, added a bit of mineral spirits & they worked like new.
