Summertide Earrings Instructions Designed by Tracy Gonzales for TierraCast
Seed beads and spacers can create a fabulous earring look for any season. TierraCast spacers add texture to these beaded hoop earrings, while a small charm adds character. Switch out the seed bead colors to make this look your own. You can find more inspiration for making statement earrings with help from TierraCast items in this Artbeads Cafe episode.
Step one: Cut a length of jewelry wire approximately seven inches long.
Step two: String a sterling silver 2x2mm crimp tube onto the wire, then thread the end of the wire back through the crimp, creating a small loop and leaving a short tail. Crimp the tube in place.
Step three: String one TierraCast 3mm brass oxide pewter plain heishi spacer, followed by a TierraCast antique rhodium 4mm beaded heishi spacer, a plain spacer, and a turquoise 6/0 seed bead, covering the tail of your wire. Repeat twice.
Step four: Repeat the bead pattern again, this time using an orange seed bead. Repeat once more with a yellow seed bead, and then again with an orange seed bead. Repeat the pattern with a turquoise seed bead.
Step five: Add a plain spacer to the strand, followed by a TierraCast antique silver palmette charm. Make a mirror image of the bead pattern on the other side of the charm.
Step six: Repeat step two, adjusting beads before securing so that they are close but not too tight.
Step seven: Open the loop of the TierraCast niobium earwire with silver ball and string on both ends of the beaded strand. Close the loop.
Step eight: Repeat steps one through seven to make the other earring.
