This gorgeous hand-painted porcelain pendant will make a big splash! The color combinations and unique components will make a wonderful gift, if you can stand to give it away!
Step one: String a light blue silk ribbon through a hand-painted porcelain pendant.
Step two: Cut a length of Beadalon® .018 jewelry wire to approximately 30 inches. String it through the pendant alongside the ribbon. Attach a Bead Stopper to one side of the wire close to the pendant to keep it from slipping through.
Step three: On the other side of the wire, string three 6mm Swarovski faceted round aqua crystals followed by a 4mm Swarovski faceted round light topaz crystal, five yellow aragonite chips, a carved wood bead, five more pieces of aragonite chips and a 4mm light topaz crystal. Repeat this pattern three times and finish with three aqua crystals, one light topaz, five aragonite chips, one light topaz, three aqua crystals, one light topaz and finally five aragonite chips. Crimp this end of the wire to a large open jump ring. Before crimping, make sure your wire did not slide through the pendant too far and you have ample wire on the other side to complete this pattern.
Step four: Remove the Bead Stopper and repeat the pattern on the other side of the design. Finish by crimping the wire to the other large jump ring and trim all excess wire. Attach each jump ring to one side of the toggle clasp.
Step five: In order to get the length of the ribbon just right, we recommend you slip the ribbon through the 4x4mm sterling silver crimp tube, through the jump ring and back through the tube, but do not crimp yet. When you have done this on both sides of the necklace, put the necklace on and fiddle with the length until you reach the length you desire. If you have a helper nearby, it is best to have them flatten the crimp with a chain nose pliers while you still have it on. It is the best way to guarantee that you have the right length. The ribbon holds fairly well in the un-flattened crimps, so if you are working on your own you can carefully slip the necklace off and flatten them yourself. Trim the excess ribbon and you are done! The silk ribbon used for this design has unfortunately been discontinued on our site, but we have tons of other colors to choose from! Please check out our Silk Ribbon Section for tons more colors to use.
