We created this gorgeous plaque for our designer Rebecca's birthday. It combines freshwater pearls, silk ribbon, craft paper, a dragonfly pendant and a bronze quote pendant to create a personalized work of art. The components of this plaque were chosen to reflect this special time for Rebecca as she prepares for her wedding and a new life with her husband.
Tip: We used a 7x3 inch piece of balsa wood for the base of this plaque which we purchased at our local craft store. If you would like to hang your plaque, you can attach a small picture hook or simple loop to the back. Or for something more decorative, glue a piece of the silk ribbon to back for a hanger.
Step one: Cut a piece of paper large enough to fold around the edges to the back of the plaque. We used paper from Scrap Pad To Go - K-Ology Peabody. Use Quick Hold craft adhesive to mount the paper to the balsa wood smoothing out any bubbles as necessary.
Step two: From Peabody we chose a die-cut tag and stamped it with "love" using a stamp from the Artgirl rubber stamp set. Cut a piece of contrasting paper to frame the tag. Attach the tag with adhesive.
Step three: Arrange the bronze quote pendant "Epictetus" and the 8-10mm peacock nugget pearls and attach to the plaque with adhesive.
Step four: Thread the SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS smoked topaz dragonfly pendant onto a piece of hand-dyed silk vintage mix ribbon. Arrange the ribbon on the plaque and attach with adhesive wrapping the ends of the ribbon around the back.
Step five: Arrange the die-cut tag, the pewter spiky heart charm and the pewter be bold crown charm and attach with adhesive.
