This necklace incorporates a plush black silken ribbon looped through elegant and playful ovals of sterling silver chain. Step one: Attach two jump rings to the center loop on each part of the sterling toggle clasp. Cut a length of sterling large flat oval link chain thirty one links long, and slide one end of the chain through the outside jump ring on each part of the clasp.
Step two: Using a 4x4mm sterling silver crimp tube, crimp one end of the silk ribbon to one of the same jump rings you attached the chain to. Flatten the crimp tube with your chain nose pliers. Loop the ribbon back and forth through each link of the oval chain and crimp the other end to the other outside jump ring. Trim the excess ribbon.
Step three: To make the beaded bail for the pendant, cut a six inch length of Soft Touch to approximately six inches. Put one end in a Bead Stopper then string a 2x2mm sterling silver crimp tube followed by three jet Swarovski 6mm bicone pendants. Add the pendant so that the side without the AB finish is facing away from the beads you have already strung. Add the seven remaining bicone pendants and wrap the bail through the bottom link of chain and around the ribbon before finishing. To complete the bail, take the initial end out of the Bead Stopper and string the other end of wire through the crimp going in the opposite direction of the first end. Flatten the crimp tube with your chain nose pliers and trim the excess wire.
