| STEP ONE | | STEP TWO | | STEP THREE |
 | | | | |
| Make a cross on a piece of paper and center the piece on it. You will want to position a seed bead on the outer most row to the center line. Skip two beads to each side of center and make a mark. Skip two more beads to each side and make another mark. These will be your starting and ending points.
| | With a needle and thread, bring your thread through the third row and through the edge bead. Knot the thread so that it is hidden under the beads.
| | Thread the beads on to the thread, then go back through the 4th bead from the end to create the end of the fringe.
| STEP FOUR | | STEP FIVE | | STEP SIX |
 | | | | |
| Go back through all the beads of the fringe and through the entry bead.
| | Go through three beads in the row above.
| | Then back down through the third bead from the first fringe.
| STEP SEVEN | | STEP EIGHT | | STEP NINE |
 | | | | |
| Repeat steps 3, 4, 5 and 6 to create four more fringes. Make a knot under the row of beads.
| | In this example there are two beads in between the fringes.
| | If you don't want any space between the fringe, you can go through the next edge bead.
