You're sure to adore this eye-catching necklace with cool blue and silver hues. Sapphire Dawn is a reflection of the beauty and gracefulness of birds and the role nature plays in our lives.
Step one: Choose an image to use in your Nunn Design silver-plated pewter mini square link. We used a small picture of a flying bird to tie in with the theme. Cut the image to fit inside the frame of the link, and use the Nunn Design glue to hold the picture in place. Let the glue dry. Apply the Nunn Design sealant to the image and let dry for approximately 20 minutes.
Step two: Using the pour spout on the Nunn Design Gel du Soleil glaze, carefully dispense the glaze until it is filled level with the frame. Pop any air bubbles that have surfaced with a needle. Place the link under a UV lamp to cure for approximately 20 minutes. Set aside.
Step three: Attach one 0.90 x 4.60mm sterling silver open jump ring to the TierraCast® antique silver hummingbird charm. Link two more jump rings (.90x4.60mm) in a chain fashion to the first, and attach the hummingbird charm to the Nunn Design silver-plated pewter twig link. Set aside.
Step four: Thread a sterling silver 1-inch eye pin through a mini porcelain puffed rectangle bead and finish with a simple loop. Repeat. For help with making a simple loop, see the How to Make a Simple Loop instructions in the handy tips section of the learning center.
Step five: Link together in the following order; the Nunn Design antique silver-plated pewter right-facing leaf link, 4.60mm jump ring, puffed bead link from step four, mini square link from step two, puffed bead link, 4.60mm jump ring and the pewter twig link with hummingbird charm from step three.
Step six: Cut a piece of ZambaPro&trade jewelry wire approximately 91/2 inches long using the nipper tool. Use a sterling 2x2mm crimp tube to secure the jewelry wire to the loop on the pewter right-facing leaf link. Thread the following pattern onto the jewelry wire: TierraCast® rhodium kenyan heishi spacer, puffed rectangle bead, silver rose bead, blue and beige round bead, rose, puffed bead, spacer, TierraCast® brass oxide pewter hummingbird bead, two spacers, puffed bead, rose, round bead, rose, puffed bead, spacer, puffed bead, spacer, puffed bead, spacer. Use a crimp tube to secure the strand to a 5.8mm jump ring.
Step seven: Use nippers to cut a piece of ZambaPro&trade jewelry wire approximately 8 inches long. Use a sterling 2x2mm crimp tube to secure the jewelry wire to the loop on the twig link. Thread the following pattern onto the jewelry wire: spacer, puffed bead, rose, round bead, rose, puffed bead, spacer and the TierraCast® antique silver dragonfly wings. Add a spacer and a puffed bead. Repeat four times, and add a spacer. Use a crimp tube to secure the strand to a 5.8mm jump ring.
Step eight: Link 11 5.8mm jump rings together to form a chain. Connect one end of this chain to one piece of the antique silver-plated star-shaped flower toggle clasp and the other end to one of the necklace ends. Repeat for the other side of the necklace. Adjust the number of jump rings to adjust the length of your necklace if desired.
