This "San Pedro's Butterflies" design showcases an intricately hand-painted Russian artist pendant among rich foliage-hued beads for a jungle-inspired result. Inspired by our spring/summer 2011 fashion trend, this necklace is slightly asymmetrical, lending a fashionably carefree look.
Step one: Cut a 21-inch piece of ZambaPro™ jewelry wire and attach it to the bar of an antique brass-plated pewter flower toggle clasp using a 12k gold-filled 2x2mm crimp tube. For help using crimp tools please refer to the handy tips section of the learning center. Thread 34 4mm Czech glass druk beads in golden yellow luster.
Step two: Next, thread the following beads in this pattern: a 5x4mm roundel bead in wasabi/aqua with Picasso, a 6mm TierraCast® antique gold twist heishi spacer, a Fire Designs bead, a spacer, a roundel, a spacer, a Fire Designs bead, a spacer, a roundel, a spacer, a Fire Designs bead, a spacer and a roundel. For the Fire Designs beads, choose any bead from the Camouflage mix.
Step three: Thread five Czech druk beads. Repeat the pattern from step two. Thread two Czech druk beads. Next, thread a 25x35mm rectangle black onyx green speckled butterfly on gold onto a 2-inch antique brass-plated head pin and attach it to the necklace using a simple loop. Thread two Czech druk beads. Repeat the pattern from step two.
Step four: Thread the following beads in this order: three Czech druk beads, a TierraCast® brass oxide pewter monarch butterfly bead, five Czech druk beads, a roundel, a spacer, a Fire Designs bead, a spacer, a roundel, a spacer, a Fire Designs bead, a spacer, a roundel, a TierraCast® antique gold paloma bead and 32 Czech druk beads.
Step five: Attach the loop of the clasp using a crimp tube.
