This Safari Necklace uses stoneware beads with geometric patterns to create a desert look. The necklace takes only minutes to make, so it's a perfect last-minute gift for Father's Day.
Step one: Cut an 18 1/2-inch piece of 2mm brown leather cord. Onto the cord, thread a stoneware tube bead with blue and dark brown triangles, a Metallite™ 13mm antique silver cut-out bead, a stoneware tube bead with dark brown lines and circles, a Metallite™ bead and a stoneware tube bead with triangles.
Step two: Crimp the 2.5mm antique sterling silver fancy end cap ring onto one end of the cord and the 2.5mm antique sterling silver fancy end cap hook onto the other end of the cord. To ensure a strong hold, you may want to apply adhesive to the ends of the cord before crimping. Only the center of these end caps should be crimped, so make sure not to apply full pressure onto the decorative X and O patterns along the edges. For more help with using end caps and crimp ends, visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center.
