This ornament is regal in color and design. It is simple and fun to make. Add it to your gift-giving list this year, along with our other ornament designs.
Tip: When working with Tacky Tape, it is best to rest your ornaments in a drinking glass as you work. If you set it down while you work, you are likely to pick up dust and pet hair that you may not want as part of your design!
Step one: Carefully run a strip of Tacky Tape in a circle along the circumference of the ornament from top to bottom.
Step two: String the purple fiber from the Mardi Gras embellishment card along one edge of the tape. When you reach the top, thread it around the top of the ornament and down the other side. When you come back to the top, wrap the fiber around the ornament one more time and cut the end. Put a dab of E-6000 adhesive on the end of the fiber and push it flush with the edge of the top of the ornament until it holds.
Step three: Run a second piece of tape around the center of the ornament, perpendicular to the first. It will need to be cut as you intersect the existing fibers. Run two pieces of the purple fiber around the edges of this piece of tape. You can run it over the first piece of tape, but will need to cut it as it meets itself.
Step four: Where the tape intersects, press a SS16 rose AB Swarovski flatback. Evenly place three crystals between each place the tape intersects (center to bottom and side to side). Add a crystal on either side of the top of the tape, and one on each side between the top of the ornament and the center.
Step five: In all the spaces between the crystals and fibers, press metallic 18 karat Hamilton gold plated Delica seed beads.
