Posh Peyote Bracelet Instructions Designed by Cheri Carlson
There are endless ways to finish designs featuring the peyote stitch. This bracelet features the stitch folded over D ring components from TierraCast. This unique technique adds flawless style to the bracelet. You'll find even more ideas for incorporating TierraCast components into your designs in this Artbeads Cafe episode.
Step one: Create a peyote stitch strip 10 beads wide. Use Miyuki metallic matte 22 karat bright gold Delica seed beads for the first bead, then use a Miyuki 11/0 galvanized tarnished silver Delica seed bead for the second bead. For beads 3-8, use the bright gold Delicas. Bead 9 will be a tarnished silver Delica. Bead 10 will be a bright gold Delica. Follow this pattern for the rest of the bracelet. Take a look at Mini Tutorial to learn the even-count peyote stitch technique.
Step two: Continue stitching until the strip is the desired length for a bracelet, keeping in mind that we will be folding over some of the strip. The clasp will also add one inch of length. Refer to this Handy Tip to fold each end of the peyote strip over a TierraCast black finish pewter slotted D ring.
Step three: Attach the bar component to one D ring using three 4.5mm gunmetal-plated 21 gauge open jump rings linked together. For help opening and closing jump rings, please see our Handy Tip Video.
