Plume of the Peacock Bracelet Instructions Designed by Candie Cooper
Memory wire is easy to decorate with all kinds of your favorite beads. Candie used Dakota Stones gemstone beads, Swarovski crystal beads, and seed beads from an Artbeads Designer Blend to decorate this bracelet. You can spice up your memory wire designs with simple embellishments like charms and a strand of jewelry wire, too. Learn how with these instructions and make sure to see more inspiration for memory wire designs in this Artbeads Cafe episode.
Step one: Watch this Artbeads Cafe episode to see more instruction on how to make this bracelet. First, use memory wire shears to cut your memory wire to length for a bracelet.
Step two: Create a loop at one end of the memory wire. Watch this video to see how to use memory wire pliers to form a loop at the end of your wire.
Step three: String on the first few beads onto your bracelet. This can be a random pattern. We used seed beads from the Artbeads Tropical Breeze Designer Blend, Dakota Stones rainbow druzy agate round beads, Swarovski 6mm XILION bicones in Blue Zircon, Swarovski 4mm XILION bicones in Crystal Paradise Shine, and Swarovski 8mm round pearls in Iridescent Purple and Petrol.
Step four: When you have a few beads added to the memory wire, cut a length of jewelry wire approximately 20 inches long. Add a 925/10 silver-filled 2x2mm crimp tube to the end of the jewelry wire and loop the end of the jewelry wire around your loop at the end of your memory wire and back through the crimp tube. Crimp in place. Run the jewelry wire through the beads already on your memory wire. When you get to a pearl, instead of running the wire through the pearl, add 9-10 Miyuki 11/0 metallic galvanized silver Delicas to the jewelry wire and go around the pearl and through the next bead after the pearl.
Step five: Continue adding beads to your memory wire and running the jewelry wire through the beads until you reach pearls. When your bracelet is the desired length, finish the end of the memory wire with a loop and crimp the jewelry wire to this loop as you did at the beginning.
Step six: Attach a 20x12mm bronze with patina leaf charm to each loop at the ends of the bracelet using a 6mm stainless steel 18 gauge open jump ring. For help opening and closing jump rings, please see our video tutorial.
