Whether for Christmas or as a suncatcher, this picture frame ornament is a great way to display your loved one.
Step one: The first thing you need to do is find a picture for the picture frame charm. The best way to get it to the right size is to use a color copier to shrink it, or use a scanner and your computer to resize it to a smaller size and print it out. You will want to make two copies.
Step two: Once you've done that, use the insert that comes with the frame as a guide and cut out the picture. Slide one picture into each side between the plastic pieces. To make it a little more secure, you can run a little GS-Hypo glue in the inside seams of the frame to hold the pictures in place. Just be careful not to use too much or it will overflow onto the picture. Set the picture frame aside.
Step three: Next, use a pair of memory wire shears or heavy duty cutters to cut about a coil and a half of your memory wire. Using pliers make a loop to the outside of the coil. For help on finishing memory wire, visit our How to Finish Memory Wire Handy Tip in the Handy Tip section of the Learning Center.
Step four:Begin adding your beads. Your pattern will be an 8mm light sapphire AB druk bead, a stardust roundel, a 6mm sapphire AB Czech fire polish bead, a stardust roundel, another 6mm bead, then a stardust roundel.
Step five: Repeat this pattern four more times, and end with your last 8mm bead.
Step six: Next, use your pliers to make another loop at the end of the memory wire. Depending on how big a coil you cut, you may have a little extra wire to trim. You want the loops to hold the beads snug so they don't move.
Step seven: Remove the jump ring the frame comes with and replace it with SS-OJR40-E. Slide the end link of the chain onto the jump ring also, and close it. Cut the chain so that you have six links of chain connected to the frame.
Step eight: Attach your other jump ring to the last link of chain and to both loops on the memory wire, and close it. Use a piece of organza ribbon to tie an overhand knot onto the jump ring, then tie a bow higher up so that you have a loop you can use to hang your ornament. There you have it, a picture frame framed with your favorite beads. Enjoy it hanging on your Christmas tree, in your window, or from your rearview mirror.
