Peaches and Cream Bracelet Instructions Designed by Cheri Carlson
Seed beads can be used in so many ways when designing jewelry. If you love the look of loomed jewelry but want to skip the loom, this wrap bracelet makes a great alternative. The seed beads are wrapped between leather cord, so you can make fun patterns, just like on a loom! The leather cord adds cool texture to the outside of the design. Learn how to make this bracelet with the instructions below and see where seed beads can take you in your jewelry designs.
Step one: Slide the TierraCast antique silver-plated pewter flower of life button onto a two-foot length of 2mm natural light brown round leather. Fold the leather in half so the button is at the center of the leather. Make an overhand knot at the fold to attach the button to the leather.
Step two: Follow the pattern in this PDF diagram to add the Miyuki 11/0 Duracoat galvanized dark coral Delicas, the Miyuki 11/0 opaque matte creamy nectarine Delicas and the Miyuki 11/0 metallic galvanized silver Delicas to the bracelet. We used KO nylon Japanese beading thread to wrap our beads to the leather. For instructions on the techniques used to create a wrap bracelet, visit this Handy Tip. Weave the tail of the thread back into the previous rows to secure the thread when you are done and trim. You can learn more about securing thread in seed bead projects here.
Step three: When you have added all of the seed beads, tie another overhand knot at the end of the bracelet. Leave a space large enough to allow for your button and tie another knot. Trim the ends of your leather if needed.
