As we are huge fans of the Harry Potter®* books and movies, we were inspired to create some fun jewelry that can be worn to the theater or worn any day to show how much we love the series. We thought this owl looked a bit like Hedwig™*, so we used Griffindor™* colors to create this playful necklace.
Step one: Cut a 22-inch piece each of Soft Flex Trios, vitality in imperial topaz and citrine. Knot the two strands together in the center, but don't pull the knot tight. Attach a sterling silver open jump ring to the sterling silver owl charm and connect it to the center of the knot.
Step two: Alternate the crystal/gold 1/2 metallic coated fire polished beads with the Czech fire polished ruby beads, for a total of seven beads per strand.
Step three: Use a 2x3mm gold-filled crimp tube to crimp the two strands from one side of the necklace together to the loop end of the antique brass-plated futurist toggle. Trim excess wire. For help using crimp tubes please visit the Handy Tips section in the Learning Center. Repeat to crimp the other side of the necklace to the bar end of the clasp.
