Orchid Seeds Bracelet Instructions Designed by Teri McCamish
The Pantone Color of the Year for 2014 is Radiant Orchid, a charming hue that works with a variety of tones. In honor of this captivating color, we have created a beaded bracelet filled with orchid color and accented with dark purple and silver. You'll love the fresh style it brings to your looks.
Step one: Cut five feet of thread and add a stopper bead. We used a small, white seed bead. Bring the thread around half of the bead and back through the stringing hole to hold the bead in place, leaving a tail. String on two TOHO 8/0 bead rounds in silver-lined lavender opal, followed by a CzechMates glass 6mm silver two-hole lentil bead. Repeat this pattern until all 28 lentil beads are strung.
Step two: Add four TOHOs to the thread and bring your thread through the open stringing hole of the last lentil, as shown in the first image of this PDF. Add two TOHOs to the thread and bring it through the open stringing hole of the next lentil. Continue this pattern, working your way back to the start of the bracelet.
Step three: Add three TOHOs to the thread. Bring the thread through the stopper bead, back through the last TOHO added and then loop it around through the first TOHOs in the top row of the bracelet, as illustrated in the second image of this PDF.
Step four: Add three TOHOs to your thread, skip over the lentil and pass through the next two TOHOs, as shown in the third image of the PDF. Repeat this pattern until you reach the opposite end of the bracelet.
Step five: Once you reach the last two TOHOs of the top row of the bracelet, add another TOHO to the thread and a bead that matches your stopper bead. Bring your thread back through the last TOHO added and loop it around through the two TOHOs in the bottom row of the bracelet, as shown in the fourth image of the PDF. Continue the pattern from step four, adding three TOHOs to the thread and skipping them over the lentils, until you reach the opposite end of the bracelet.
Step six: Bring your thread through the two TOHOs at the end of the bottom row. Cut a half-inch length of silver fine French Wire and string your thread through it. Add a 925/10 silver-filled 6mm 20 gauge closed jump ring to the French Wire and bring your thread through the two TOHOs at the end of the top row. Bring your thread through two of the TOHOs forming an arch around the first lentil. Add a fire-polished 4mm bead in tanzanite to the thread and bring your thread through the next bead at the top of a lentil, as shown in the sixth image of the PDF. Keep adding fire-polished beads between the TOHOs at the top of the lentils until you reach the opposite end.
Step seven: Refer to image seven of the PDF to see how to add the clasp. You thread should be exiting out of the last two TOHOs in the top row. Cut a half-inch piece of French Wire and add it to the thread. Add a 7mm sterling spring ring around the French Wire and loop the thread around to the bottom row and through the first two TOHOs in the row. Follow the technique in step six to add fire-polished beads between the TOHOs in this row. Repeat until you reach the opposite end. Knot and trim your thread.
