Create this stunning necklace and give your mother something that she can carry with her for years to come. She'll love the fact that you made it yourself! This design features a contemporary crystal pendant with an ivy motif. The pendant, combined with the round cable chain, creates a look that is both feminine and bold.
Step one: Cut a 16-inch piece of antique silver-plated round links on round cable chain. Use a 6mm gunmetal-plated open jump ring to join the two ends of the chain together. Find the center of the chain and add two round links from the center of the chain to the jump ring. Close the jump ring. When laid flat, your chain should resemble a figure eight. Bring the two circles of the figure eight together so that they form one circle of doubled chain.
Step two: Attach the 38mm Swarovski 6091 flat baroque pendant with Crystal ivy motif to the circle of chain using the antique silver-plated pewter vine pinch bail.
Step three: Cut a 10-inch piece of black ultra micro fiber suede. String the suede through the circle of chain, bringing the ends of the suede together. Now, string a 14x10mm tsunami glass bead with grommets over both ends of the suede so that the bead rests against the chain. Attach a sterling silver open jump ring to one end of the suede using a 4x4mm sterling silver crimp tube. (We flattened the crimp tube using pliers.) Do the same thing to the other end of the suede.
Step four: Link the jump rings at the ends of the suede together using a third jump ring. Add four more jump rings, creating a short chain. Attach the chain to one piece of the antique silver-plated pewter leaves toggle using another jump ring.
Step five:Repeat steps three and four to complete the other side of the necklace. You can adjust the suede pieces and chain as needed to achieve the look in the photograph.
