These mug charms are fun, year-round gifts. Whether you are having coffee with your significant other or a holiday party with dozens of kids drinking hot cocoa, you will love these personalized mug charms that will help keep you from mixing up your drinks. We designed our mug charms with the holidays and football season in mind, but you can just as easily choose your favorite hobby, expression or season to make charms that represent your family and friends the best. Note: We used artistic wire for these charms, which is a decorative, but pliable wire. Over time, with lots of use, it will likely break. For more durable mug charms, we recommend the memory wire rings.
Step one: Bend an artistic wire of your choosing around a surface that is round in order to form a circle. Something like the top of a water bottle works just fine. Leave about one inch of extra wire and cut off the excess with your wire cutters.
Step two: On one end of the wire, use round nose pliers to make a small loop.
Step three: Slide the Toho seed beads and charms onto the wire in a pattern that appeals to you.
Step four: Using your chain nose pliers, on the other end of your wire, make a right angle bend about½ inch from the end. In the middle of that bend use the pliers to bend it back so the end of the wire is flush against itself.
Step five: Carefully wrap the whole thing again around the water bottle top to reform the circle shape. The folded end of the wire should fit through the loop end to hold the charms on your mugs.
