We purchased a doggie t-shirt at our local pet store and made it magnificent for Moki, a sweet and always happy Goldendoodle. We used CRYSTALLIZED™ hotfix rhinestones in citrine, fire opal, hyacinth, jonquil, rose, and sun to contrast with our bright aqua t-shirt. Use our colors as inspiration but choose colors that suit your pet and t-shirt.
We also used larger sizes but you can use smaller rhinestones especially if you have a long name to spell out.
Tip: We did a rough layout of the name on a piece of paper first and used it as a reference for the t-shirt. We drew out the name and then laid out the rhinestones on the paper to make sure we had enough of each color and size. When we were happy with the placement we took a picture of it on a digital camera and then were able to view the image on the computer. You can print this image and use it as a pattern as well. Or if you are feeling brave, you can go straight to the fabric and freehand the layout.
Step one: Put something behind the area of the t-shirt where you will be applying the rhinestones. When heated, the adhesive on the back of the rhinestones melts and can seep through the fabric.
Step two: Layout the CRYSTALLIZED™ hotfix rhinestones. When you are happy with the placement attach them one at a time with the Bejeweler. For help using the Bejeweler, please see our Handy Tips section in the Learning Center.
