Make your own Christmas cards this year with beautiful papers and crystals, festive charms and colorful beads and fibers for a personal greeting for someone special on your list. Use any paper you wish. For Christmas gift card ideas please click here.
Note: Use paper that is similar in color to the beads for the mittens for a more uniform look.
Step one: Cut a 12x5-inch piece of paper for the card and fold it in half so that you have a 6x5-inch card. Cut a 6x4-inch piece of contrasting paper and attach to the front of the card using 1/8 inch Terrifically Tacky Tape.
Step two: Draw a mitten shape on a piece of scrap paper and cut it out. This is your pattern. Lay the mitten pattern on your paper and draw around it. Reverse the pattern and draw one for the opposite mitten. Apply Gem-Tac to your mitten outlines.
Step three: Empty the bag of 11/0 transparent Siam ruby Toho beads onto a small flat tray or dish. Apply the Toho beads to the mittens. Check your coverage and press again until the entire surface is covered with beads.
Step four: Cut a small piece of White Cashmere crystal yarn and attach it to the wrist of the mittens with quick hold craft glue. Use craft glue to attach a Swarovski ss20 peridot flatback to the center of two translucent white Czech glass flat flowers and the flowers to the mittens.
