Maid of Honor Card Instructions Designed by Cynthia Kimura
On the most special day of your life, you should make the people around you feel special too! Present this card to your maid of honor to ask for her support, and at the same time give her a beautiful bracelet to wear to your wedding! Make one for all of your bridesmaids by switching the maid of honor charm for our bridesmaid charm. Start a tradition amongst your friends!
Step one: Prepare the card by choosing paper that compliments your wedding colors. Of course the color of the Swarovski flatbacks should also compliment the paper. Choose scissors and paper punches that you will want to use. All of these card making supplies can be purchased at your local craft store.
Step two: For the front of the card, we punched out five 10mm squares and layered punched out hearts on top of those, arranging them on the card and holding them together with Gem-Tac glue. In the center of the hearts you simply alternate colors of size 9 Swarovski crystal flatbacks. For detailed instructions on how to apply the flatbacks, see How to Apply Swarovski Flatbacks in the Handy Tips section of our Learning Center.
Step three: On the inside cover of the card we used size 20 flatbacks to make the flowers. Have fun with this, add stems, leaves, ornate corner designs. The other side of the card is simply paper that has been corner punched with a pre-made hole punch and glued to the inside of the card.
Step four: Punch two small circles out of the top of your card and cut a slit in the paper leading to the holes, this is where you will rest the bracelet when it is completed.
Step five: Cut a length of the sterling silver heart chain to your desired length. The average bracelet length is 7½ inches.
Step six: Using two .025x.120 inch sterling silver open jump rings, attach the sterling silver heart clasp to the bracelet. Add the charms using .040x.240 inch jump rings. For detailed instructions on how to use a jump ring, please go to How to attach a charm or dangle to a chain in the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center. Then just loop the bracelet through the card, autograph it for that friend that has always been there for you and make her day!
